At the Times Lit Fest with Monolith

Some scenes from the Times Lit Fest where I spoke about my short story - Monolith. Monolith is set in the aftermath of the battle of Talikota, and offers an alternative perspective on the destruction of Hampi. It seeks to demolish the trope of the "invader" that functions as a kind of monolith of the cultural imagination! One look at the actual monoliths that surround Hampi makes you somber indeed. I suppose it takes a playwright working in a medium that is not normally his strength, to make this epochal moment in history, also moment of quiet heartbreak. Ah well, if the subject needs stone faced gags, so be it!
