Hi Ram,

Watched the play a few times as you know :) and the vikram/betaal bit did more than just the sutradhaar and story telling. Couldn't really identify with the first half of the play, but the cyclical format in the second half appealed a lot.

I felt the resonance of Vikram and Betaal, the imagery associated with these characters in hindu minds, in the second half of the play where I saw two people, dead and alive interchangeably, carrying each other. Wonderful I thought, the dead but provoking burdens that they carried, ghosts even.

Cheers and all the best for the hindu festival
